2015 Alaska Itinerary and Routes

The crew plans to take about 6 weeks from Port Townsend to Skagway, departing about May 1, hoping to take advantage of some late spring southerlies to push us along. We suspect we will be passed by participants in the Race to Alaska at some point along the route. Dorjun is to be shipped south from Juneau so she can participate in late-summer sailing programs at the Maritime Foundation in Port Townsend.

Itinerary

Dates are only rough approximations....actual dates and ports of call will greatly depend on weather and many other factors!

• May 1 - depart Port Townsend, WA
• May 4 - Nanaimo, BC
• May 6 - Campbell River or Powell River, BC
• May 9-10 Port McNeil area (Alert Bay/Sointula) or Port Hardy
• Probable Weather Hold for Queen Charlotte Sound
• ~May 25 Prince Rupert
• ~June 1 Ketchikan
• ~June 4 Petersburg
• June 10 Juneau
• June 15 Skagway

Some notes about the "Tour":

• 12 second pause at beginning of tour (be patient!)
• Tour takes 5 minutes 30 seconds at default Google Earth playback speeds. You can adjust playback speeds in Google Earth's "options"
• Tour is over at 5:30; after pausing it will start going over the whole route again *very, very slowly*
